Position Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire (6 Months)

Pay Rate: $21.00 – $25.00 / hour (Tiered based on experience and active certifications)

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM + Occasional Overtime)

Veterans Alliance is seeking skilled Wire Harness Technicians and Electronics Cable Assemblers for a premier, climate-controlled aerospace and defense manufacturing facility near the Huntsville International Airport. This long-term role involves building flight-critical wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and control boxes for advanced aviation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, fabricate, and route complex multi-branch wire harnesses and cable assemblies using layout boards, J-hooks, and engineering schematics.

Execute precision manual wire stripping, terminal/contact crimping, connector pinning, and hand-soldering runs.

Read and interpret raw engineering drawings, electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOM), and visual work instructions.

Perform mechanical box-build assembly, component mounting, and localized touch-up/rework.

Conduct visual quality inspections, wire continuity checks, and pin-to-pin ring-outs to guarantee zero-defect production.

Maintain strict adherence to Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, ESD safety standards, and ISO/AS9100 quality guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

1+ years of experience in wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, avionics, circuit card assembly, or electrical system repair.

Demonstrated ability to read and build directly from complex electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Proficient with precision hand tools, manual wire strippers, calibrated crimp tools, and soldering irons.

Active or previous training in IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or IPC J-STD-001 standards (active cards qualify for top pay tier).

Must be able to pass a 2-to-3-hour on-site practical bench evaluation demonstrating manual wire prep, crimping, soldering, and blueprint routing skills.

Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.

Military veterans with avionics, aircraft electrical, or armament maintenance backgrounds (USAF, USMC, US Army, USN) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Active IPC/J-STD Certified Tier: $23.00 – $25.00 / hour

Experienced Uncertified Tier: $21.00 – $22.00 / hour
