Position Info:
• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $37.50/hour
• Working Hours: 30-44 hours/week

Job Duties:
• Lead and supervise kitchen staff in the daily preparation and cooking of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items, ensuring an efficient workflow during service
• Plan and coordinate food preparation for the restaurant’s menu, including breakfast dishes, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, entrées and other specialty items
• Establish and maintain consistent standards for food quality, portioning, presentation and preparation throughout all kitchen operations
• Train and instruct cooks and other kitchen staff on proper cooking methods, food preparation, plating, food handling and kitchen procedures
• Monitor food usage, inventory levels and kitchen supplies, and place orders as required to maintain adequate stock while minimizing waste
• Track food costs, consumption and inventory, and review kitchen operating costs to support effective cost control
• Estimate food and supply requirements based on menu demand, expected sales volume and restaurant operations
• Develop and introduce new menu items or recipes and make adjustments to existing dishes based on quality, consistency and operational needs
• Ensure meals are properly prepared for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions and that appropriate food-handling procedures are followed
• Assist with the recruitment, training and performance supervision of kitchen employees to maintain appropriate staffing and service standards

Job requirements:
• Language: English
• Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cooking experience, including supervisory role is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
