Job Title: Farm Operations Supervisor (NOC 82030)

Terms of Employment: 40-60 hours per week, full-time, permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $29.00-31.00/hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement work schedules to organize and control operations and labor within the greenhouse.
• Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of greenhouse staff through quality control checks during planting, crop work, and harvesting to ensure adherence to standards.
• Supervise and enforce procedures related to crop harvesting, crop care, operational efficiency, and company culture.
• Ensure adherence to all site safety, food safety, and bio-security procedures within the greenhouse operation.
• Maintain quality control and production records by:
o Identifying, monitoring, and controlling pest and disease issues to ensure healthy crop growth
o Maintaining comprehensive records of crop progress, climate conditions, financial transactions
o Completing weekly crop registrations and performing irrigation measurements to assess crop growth and health
• Supervise maintenance of greenhouse infrastructure, equipment and supplies by:
o Ensuring timely preventative maintenance on infrastructure and equipment are executed to ensure optimal operation
o Ensuring accurate inventory of fertilizers, seeds, and other greenhouse consumables are maintained
o Ensuring routine inspection, calibration, operation, and repair all technology sensors related to greenhouse climate and irrigation systems
• Assist in achieving high production levels with a focus on efficiency and meticulous attention to detail.
• Engage, motivate, and empower staff to effectively execute greenhouse tasks while fostering a positive work environment.

Skills Requirements

Education: Completion of High School is required

Experience: 2 years of greenhouse farming experience combined with 1 year of Farm Supervisory or Farm Management Experience

Language: English
