Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a 3-year training program or course related to welding is an asset
• 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Proficient hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
• Accurate understanding of blueprints and welding process specifications
• Determine weldability of materials
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
• Perform welding-related repairs on the chassis, trucks, and trailers
• Use brazing and soldering equipment to bond metal parts and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover defects
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat resistant gloves, protective shields, and safety shoes
