We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join the team at Niagara Truck Repair and Tire. This role is essential to supporting our heavy-duty truck repair operations by delivering high-quality welding, fabrication, and structural repair services. The Welder will work closely with our mechanics and technicians to ensure trucks and trailers are repaired safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.

•Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, manufacturer specifications, and welding process instructions related to transport trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty vehicle components.
•Perform welding on transport trucks and trailers using manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, including processes such as GMAW (MIG), FCAW, SMAW (stick), GTAW (TIG), and oxy-acetylene welding, to fuse and repair metal components.
•Operate flame-cutting and thermal cutting equipment to cut, remove, or prepare damaged or worn metal sections on truck frames, bodies, suspensions, exhaust systems, and trailer structures.
•Carry out brazing and soldering tasks as required for specific truck components, fittings, and attachments.
•Operate metal shaping and fabrication equipment such as brakes, shears, grinders, presses, and bending machines to shape, straighten, and fit metal parts for transport truck repairs or modifications.
•Repair worn, cracked, or damaged metal parts of transport trucks and trailers by welding additional layers, reinforcing joints, or replacing sections to restore structural integrity.
•Inspect welded joints and repaired components to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and manufacturer specifications for heavy-duty vehicles.
•Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe operating condition and follow workplace safety procedures and industry standards.
•Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to diagnose structural or metal-related issues on transport trucks and determine appropriate welding and repair methods

Skills and Requirements for the Position/Successful Candidate
•4+ years of experience in welding and heavy-duty truck repair
•Completion of secondary school or completion of a welding diploma program from a certified welding school
•Holds a welding license and commercial vehicle wheel service license
•Experience working on Class 8 trucks, diesel engines, and electrical/after-treatment systems
•Skilled in welding, fabrication, tire service, and general truck/trailer maintenance
•Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform preventive maintenance and inspections
•Knowledge of air brakes, suspension, steering, and HVAC systems
•Safety focused, reliable, and able to work in a busy shop environment
