POSITION SUMMARY:

The Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and metal fabrication work to support various construction and refurbishment projects. This role involves the preparation, joining, and repair of metal components using manual and semi-automatic welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding. The Welder will interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precise measurements and strong, durable welds. Working on a variety of residential and commercial sites across the Greater Toronto Area, the Welder will contribute to tasks related to structural reinforcement, custom metalwork, concrete reinforcement, and waterproofing support systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to adapt welding solutions to meet the diverse needs of interior and exterior renovation projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret blueprints and welding specifications to determine job requirements.
• Measure, cut, and join metal parts using MIG, TIG, SMAW, and FCAW welding methods.
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding and flame-cutting equipment.
• Perform grinding, tacking, and torch-cutting to prepare and finish welds.
• Repair or reinforce worn or damaged metal components.
• Operate metal shaping tools such as shears, brakes, and benders.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with construction teams on interior and exterior refurbishment work.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment; perform basic repairs when needed.
• Assist and guide junior workers or apprentices as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience: 1 year of work experience as a Welder
• Education: Completion of secondary school
• Languages: Proficiency in English
