Job Duties:
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG, TIG and Flux-Core.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
• Determine weldability of materials.
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• Previous fitting experience.
• Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
Skills Required:
• Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, standing for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-to-eye coordination.
• Organized, team player, reliable.
Experience Required:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a pressure vessel custom manufacturing shop.
• Experience in pressure vessel and TIG (aluminum and stainless steel).
• Experience in welding techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), fusion welds, multipass, resistance, spot or seam.
Education Required:
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $28.50 / h
• Number of hours per day: 8
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
