Permanent Position: Welder
Company: Metro Truck Trailer Repair Ltd.

Primary Location: 7984 Webster Rd, Delta, BC, V4G 1G6
Wage rate: $37.00 Hourly, for 35 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening.
Education: High School
Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Languages: Basic knowledge of English
Job duties:
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding process instructions to determine appropriate welding methods and materials
Repair and fabricate metal parts of automotive components such as exhaust systems, chassis, frames, and body parts using welding equipment.
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, such as gas welding, arc welding, MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment.
Inspect, clean, and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding using grinders, wire brushes, and chemical solutions.
Measure, cut, and fit metal components using hand tools and cutting equipment in accordance with precise dimensions and specifications.
Perform maintenance and repair welding tasks on vehicles and heavy-duty equipment used in the workshop.
Ensure welds meet quality standards by performing visual inspections and, where required, using non-destructive testing methods.
Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working order and complying with occupational health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to troubleshoot and resolve structural issues in vehicles.
Additional skills: establish methods to meet work schedules, sanitation and safety procedures, clean and maintain tools and equipment used in work.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
Essential skills: Working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing.
Other information: Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
