Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Warranty Analysis Engineer with strong automotive engineering expertise in Transmission, Driveline, Powertrain, and mechanical systems. The engineer will perform warranty failure analysis, root cause investigation, component teardown, and corrective action support to improve vehicle reliability and reduce warranty costs.

Key Responsibilities
Perform warranty failure analysis, teardown, and root cause investigation on returned components.
Analyze transmission, gearbox, axle, driveline, and powertrain failures.
Apply 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis methodologies.
Support component disposition, repair/rework, scrap, containment, and corrective actions.
Identify warranty trends and recurring failures using warranty data and analytics.
Interpret CAD drawings, GD&T, engineering specifications, tolerances, and test reports.
Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service, and Product Engineering teams.
Prepare technical reports, failure summaries, and engineering recommendations.
Support OEM/Tier-1 suppliers with quality and reliability improvement initiatives.
Follow automotive quality processes including APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering.
5–10 years of experience in automotive warranty, quality, product engineering, or failure analysis.
Strong knowledge of Transmission, Driveline, Powertrain, and mechanical systems.
Hands-on experience with component teardown and diagnostics.
Ability to read CAD drawings, GD&T, engineering specifications, and test reports.
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing, materials, reliability, and quality processes.
Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, analytical, and technical documentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering/warranty data analysis tools.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier experience.
Experience with vehicle diagnostics, field data, and warranty systems.
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical analysis.
Exposure to Hybrid/EV powertrain systems.
