Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage all fresh produce handling processes from receiving to shipping ensuring product freshness, quality, and adherence to standards for bananas, avocados, and other commodities

• Plan, monitor, and execute ripening cycles for bananas and avocados, ensuring proper environmental controls are met for optimal quality.

• Lead cycle counts and full inventory audits of produce items. Ensure high accuracy in inventory records and adjustments for any discrepancies

• Drive performance to exceed customer service expectations and meet operational service level targets aligned with corporate goals

• Enhance workplace safety through forklift training, hazard identification, and program enforcement.

• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse employees. Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to strengthen team performance

• Create and manage effective work schedules. Allocate resources to match demand fluctuations and operational needs.

• Collaborate with growers, suppliers, and shippers to ensure quality materials are picked up according to schedule and costs are optimized.

• Identify operational inefficiencies or quality issues. Implement corrective actions to reduce spoilage, costs, and enhance productivity.

• Provide operational support to leadership and other teams

Employment requirements
• Secondary diploma and having a bachelor’s degree in logistics/supply chain, agriculture or in a related field is an asset
• 2 or more years of equivalent experience
