Job Description:
1. Prepare and irrigate soil for optimal plant growth
2. Ensure all tanks are clearly labeled with the appropriate information
3. Engage in planting, fertilizing, thinning, and harvesting crops
4. Pick row and orchard crops with care
5. Sort, weigh, and pack fruits and vegetables directly on the farm
6. Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, and products for transportation
7. Conduct cleanup activities for racks, trays, harvest bins, and general growing, producing, and packing areas
8. Communicate clearly and concisely with Production Leads and Production Supervisors
9. Knowledgeable of use of basic maintenance hand tools and power equipment
10. Assist in general farm maintenance and the upkeep of equipment and tools
11. Optionally contribute to the preparation of garden beds for planting
12. Document daily progress reports detailing the inventory harvested
Qualification criteria:
1. 2 years minimum of vineyard work experience
2. Workers must be able to lift 65 lbs frequently
3. Able to stoop, bend, and work in cold/hot and wet conditions
4. Able to use tools such as pruning shears, grape knives, hand saws, weed eaters, hedgers, shovels
5. Workers may use chains saws or other power tools
6. Safety use and training provided by the employer
7. Proficiency in English is required for training and safety purposes
