Additional Information:
AVAILABILITY

Having been with international Business Machines (IBM Consulting) for over ten happy years, it is time
to move on. With too many IBM employees searching after too few IBM projects and too few billable hours,
I have been laid off from IBM due to lack of work. I left the company on very good terms and I am eligible to
return to IBM if demand picks up.

I have been looking for a change of scenery, a bit of rest, or a chance to do something different for some time
now so I am taking a mental health break while being available for new opportunities.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

I am a long time computer programmer with my greatest strengths in mainframe Cobol and PL/1 languages.
I have done application development on several environments including PC/LAN and mainframe.
When it comes to mainframe tools and technology, I have probably used it at least once.
I have over 30 years of experience in the information technology field with strengths not only in
programming languages but also in business analysis and testing technologies.
Having been with IBM over the past ten years, I have vast amounts of experience through various projects,
giving me a well-rounded Information Technology experience background as well as extensive training.
I have database skills and experience in SQL relational databases such as DB2, MS Access, SQL Server, and Oracle. My talents are topped off with training in Cloud and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR

First and foremost, I am looking for a position in Information Technology as an application developer on the mainframe using COBOL but certainly open to other possibilities including business analysis, testing and
Local Area Network (LAN) administration. You can consider this my first choice.
I am open to any position dealing with Information Technology, but open to other possibilities in administration
as well. The operative word is flexibility in my IT career pursuits.
I am open to both part-time and full-time positions on both contract and direct hire basis.

LOCATION

I live in Lansing, Michigan which is centrally located in the lower part of the lower peninsula between the cities
of Grand Rapids and Detroit. I am interested primarily in remote work opportunities but those opportunities
can also be hybrid (work on-site part-time) if the driving distance is not an issue. If the opportunity requires air travel and overnight lodging then those terms can be discussed along with salary and/or hourly rate.
I am NOT considering relocation from Lansing, Michigan at this time.

BENEFITS

I will be sixty-five years of age in May 2025 which will make me eligible for Medicare. In the meantime, I have
COBRA benefits from my previous employer, including Medical, Dental and Vision. I don’t plan on retiring for quite some time so there are plenty of good years of employment left that can be used.

MY RESUME

If the employer or client is willing to be reasonable, I am willing to be flexible.
My resume / CV is available and/or attached for your consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you.
