Vice President of Science Job

Lead the development and implementation of advanced econometric, AI and machine learning models and analytical tools in collaboration with engineers and cross-functional teams. Define the strategic vision for the science function, prioritize high-impact research, and allocate resources effectively across projects. Apply scientific methods to improve operational efficiency, propose innovative modeling approaches, and solve large-scale business challenges. Communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences and deliver actionable insights that influence business strategy. Drive client engagement and support business growth through high-quality solutions, project oversight, and business development initiatives. Drive innovation by advancing and integrating scientific techniques to solve complex business challenges and guide implementation of research-based methodologies. Lead technical and research reviews to improve modeling processes and ensure adoption of cutting-edge approaches in econometrics, AI, and machine learning. Maintain thought leadership through continuous learning, external publications, and contributions that strengthen the organization’s scientific reputation. Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, guiding strategic decisions through expert analysis, clear communication, and modeling insights. Influence technical and strategic direction by actively engaging in scientific discussions, contributing to decision-making, and advocating for necessary resources. Represent the organization as a recognized leader in the scientific community, contributing thought leadership and providing industry-relevant insights. Provide expert research guidance to junior and senior scientists, offering feedback on model integration, performance, and scalability. Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Mentor team members across career stages, supporting professional growth through individualized coaching and feedback. Oversee performance management, set clear goals, and implement training programs to develop technical and analytical capabilities. Drive talent strategy by recruiting top-tier scientists, evaluating fit, and collaborating on succession planning to ensure long-term team strength and diversity. Position manages 7+ direct reports and 9+ indirect reports (Core AI Scientists).

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in the job offered, or in a data science, research science, or research analysis-related occupation.

Skills: Minimum one (1) year of experience required in each of the following skills: Analysis and formulation of mathematical models; forecasting and optimization; statistical analysis and machine learning; development of automated solutions for engineering or management problems; use of database technologies such as SQL or Oracle; processing large datasets from multiple sources; communication of technical or scientific information to non-technical audiences; management of research science teams, including planning, business reviews, talent reviews, and compensation reviews.
