Job Description:

Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests

Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery

Produce diagnostic radiographs

Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery

Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian

Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian

Counsel clients on animal health care

May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties
Job Requirements:
Requirements

Education: Completion of a two- or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required.

Credential: Being eligible for a Certification and/or license from a regulatory authority (Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians) is a strong asset.

Experience: A minimum of three years of experience working with a veterinary cardiologist.

The ability to operate an echocardiogram and other cardiology equipment is required.

Work setting: Animal hospital.
