Job Description:
Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
Conduct specialized procedures on animals such as animal identification and nail trimming
Counsel clients on animal health care
Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
Veterinary office management
Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
Provide wound and bandage care

Education: Completion of a two or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience is required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Fast-paced environment, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Tight deadlines.
Personal Suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral and written communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized, Team player.
Language: English is required.
Salary: $22.00 hourly, 40 – 50 hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. We are open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The worker will have to work 4 – 5 days per week. Overtime will be required.
