We are hiring associate veterinarian, looking to grow our dairy veterinary team at Abbotsford Veterinary Clinic in BC, Canada and have a lot to offer new grads looking for a great career business opportunity!
We are a team of 7 food animal veterinarians, one poultry PhD, an office manager, full staff Client Care Team, embryo marketing team and three embryologists working in our advanced bovine reproduction lab.
Emphasis placed on preventative and curative dairy herd medicine and surgery with option for advanced bovine repro (ET, IVF) and client education. Providing excellent herd health work with value-added, our clinic also offers complete bovine IVF services across W Canada using our own certified lab in embryo culture work. We are a hard-working team of professionals that respect and support one other.

Skills Requirements:
Education: Must be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in food animal production medicine
• Must be eligible to be licensed in Canada, including passing the NAVLE examinations as appropriate.

Work Experience: Experience is an asset. Experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates welcome!

Job duties:
• Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
• Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
• Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
• Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
• Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
• May enforce government regulations in disease control and food production including animal or animal-based food inspection.
