Position: Utility Locator
Employment type: full-time, 40-60 hrs/week
Number of positions: Ten (10)

Education: No formal degree, certificate or diploma required
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Onsite work: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work setting: Various locations, the workers are required to work in other locations between Red Deer and Lacombe based on the work demand.
Duties:
• Maintain detailed records of work completed, including the location and condition of all equipment
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Operate a range of vehicles, tools, and construction equipment
• Provide accurate information regarding underground gas distribution lines
• Monitor excavation activities to ensure underground facilities are safeguarded
• Use electronic distance measuring equipment to determine precise locations

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
• Ground Disturbance - Level 1 program required.
• First Aid Certificate is an asset; the employer will provide training if needed.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate is an asset; employer will provide training if needed.
