Job Description:
TypeScript Developer
About the Role
What if your TypeScript expertise could directly influence how AI writes code for millions of developers around the world? We're looking for experienced TypeScript developers to evaluate, critique, and guide AI-generated code — ensuring it meets real-world standards for type safety, scalability, and modern best practices.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior developers who know TypeScript inside and out. You won't be building a product — you'll be shaping the intelligence behind the tools that will.
Organization: Interexy
Location: Remote
Commitment: 25–69 /hour
What You'll Do
Review and evaluate AI-generated TypeScript code for correctness, type safety, and adherence to modern best practices
Solve complex development challenges using idiomatic TypeScript, generics, utility types, and modern frameworks
Provide detailed, structured feedback that helps AI models understand architectural decisions and type logic
Identify weaknesses in AI-generated code — from subtle type errors to broader design flaws — and explain how to fix them
Write clear technical summaries that bridge the gap between strong type systems and AI understanding
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Basic Knowledge (Foundational)
To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable with the following basic TypeScript concepts before diving into advanced evaluation:
Primitive & structural types – string, number, boolean, array, tuple, enum, any, unknown, void, null, undefined
Type annotations & inference – knowing when to let TypeScript infer types and when to explicitly annotate
Interfaces & type aliases – defining object shapes, extending interfaces, and using intersection (&) and union (|) types
Basic function typing – parameter types, return types, optional parameters, default values, and rest parameters
Classes & visibility – using public, private, protected, readonly, and implementing interfaces
Modules & import/export – organizing code with ES modules and understanding ambient modules
Type assertions – using as and the angle-bracket syntax, and knowing when they are (and aren’t) safe
Literal types & type narrowing – typeof, instanceof, equality narrowing, and discriminated unions
Basic generics – writing a generic identity function, using constraints with extends, and understanding why generics preserve type information
Keyof & lookup types – accessing property types by name
plus practical experience using TypeScript with one or more of the following:
tsc (compiler options), ts-node, or a build tool (Webpack, Vite, esbuild). Familiarity with strict mode and common tsconfig.json flags is a strong plus.
Who You Are
Deep expertise in TypeScript — including static typing, generics, interfaces, conditional types, and utility types
3–5 years of hands-on experience with modern frontend or full-stack frameworks such as React, Angular, Next.js, Node.js, or Nuxt.js
Strong architectural instincts — you know not just what works, but why
Excellent written communication skills — you can explain complex technical decisions clearly and concisely
Self-directed and reliable when working independently without day-to-day oversight
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field preferred
Nice to Have
Experience with data annotation, model evaluation, or AI training workflows
Familiarity with code review processes or technical documentation
Background in developer tooling, type system design, or compiler theory
Prior freelance or contract development experience
Why Join Us
Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading AI research labs
Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, technically rich work
Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and generates TypeScript code
Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
