Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410) Job

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on commercial trucks and heavy vehicles, including engines, transmissions, drive trains, air brake systems, steering, fuel systems and electrical/electronic components.

Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, safety inspections and component adjustments to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with safety standards.

Disassemble, troubleshoot and replace worn or damaged parts and components, using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and welding tools where required.

Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications to confirm proper performance and road worthiness before returning vehicles to service.

Document all work performed, including repairs, inspections, parts usage, and maintenance activities, and complete accurate reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with supervisors, fleet operators and other maintenance staff to prioritize work orders, coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of service tasks.

Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations at all times, maintaining a clean, safe work environment and identifying hazards to reduce risk of injury or vehicle downtime
