Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience
4 years of experience or apprentice, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and check all mechanical units ensuring there are no faults or malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or errors and confirm the results with the supervisor at hand to determine whether to fix or replace the unit
• Repair or fix any mechanical units or components
• Report and record all data regarding problems/faults and the work serviced to each mechanical unit
• Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
• Inspect safety devices on trucks and trailers regularly as guards, lubricating engine machinery and checking battery levels
• Use safe working practices and follow all company safety requirements
• Generate and maintain vehicle and equipment maintenance records and work orders

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems and truck trailer systems
• Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
