JOB TITLE: Truck Drivers’ Supervisor
JOB LOCATION: 5050 Edwards Blvd., Mississauga, ON Canada L5T 2W3 (1 Vacancy)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent; Full-time
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as Possible
SALARY: $37.00 per Hour
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 30 to 35 Hours/Week
WORK SETTING: Distribution Centre
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Co-ordinate, plan and review assignments of transport truck drivers and office staff engaged in managing transportation drivers and client loads.
• Supervise scheduling and shiftwork for transport truck drivers and admin staff to ensure adequate coverage during work hours, for delivery in the GTA and province wide.
• Monitor performance & production of transport truck drivers to ensure optimum utilization of transportation resources as well as commercial loads.
• Plan pickup and delivery routes for drivers to maximize profitability and reduce dead time.
• Schedule transportation teams for pickups and deliveries for Regional, and Local runs
• Direct and plan schedules from different resources such as: Dispatch Staff, Clients, Brokers
• Process load-purchase transactions, ensure proper budgeting is followed for operational profitability.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to the Management.
• Ensure fleet maintenance, work with repair and refueling facilities to ensure roadworthiness of equipment.
• Resolve and trouble-shoot work related issues to ensure smooth workflow.
• Hire and train transport truck drivers in job duties, safety protocols, yard procedures and company policies.
• Order and replenish supplies, ensure maintenance of office equipment.
• May provide coverage for transport truck drivers in case of absence or heavy workload.

Job Requirements:
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Secondary School graduation required.
• Minimum 1 year to 2 year of experience as a supervisor or related position.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to supervise 5 to 10 people
• Previous experience is trucking industry would be an asset
• Knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook and MS Word would be prefered
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
