Position: Truck Drivers Supervisor
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 32 Todd Rd, Georgetown, ON L7G 4R7
Salary: $37.50-$40.00 per hour- The gross salary paid will be subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30-40 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of truck drivers to ensure the timely and efficient movement of freight.
• Establish work schedules, assign drivers and equipment, and coordinate transportation activities with dispatch, billing, and operations departments.
• Monitor pickup and delivery schedules, ensuring shipments are completed on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Recruit, interview, and assist in the selection of new drivers, and provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and wage adjustments.
• Train and mentor newly hired drivers on company policies, transportation regulations, safety procedures, and operational requirements.
• Monitor driver performance and address operational or personnel issues to maintain productivity and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with applicable transportation legislation, company policies, Hours of Service requirements, drug and alcohol testing programs, and other provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
• Review and verify driver logbooks, inspection reports, permits, insurance documents, safety certificates, and other transportation records to ensure they remain accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and submit operational, safety, and performance reports and maintain transportation records and documentation.
• Conduct and supervise pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic truck and trailer inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs with maintenance providers to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues, transportation delays, customer concerns, and driver-related matters, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Promote and enforce workplace health and safety standards while ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.

• A minimum of one-year prior work experience at a supervisory level in the transportation and/or logistics industry is required.
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed written or verbal instructions using sound judgment and practical reasoning.
