*Responsibilities
-Operate and drive various large trucks, including tractor-trailers, long-combination vehicles, and straight-body trucks.
-Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules, and ensure all necessary documentation is obtained for the transportation of goods.
-Conducting daily vehicle inspection and reporting any problems
-Check tires, brakes, lights, and other essential systems for safety and reliability.
-Safely secure cargo according to established safety guidelines and dealing with hazardous materials safely, as needed
-Communicating with dispatchers and other drivers using onboard radios or computers
-Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption
-Complete logbooks and other documentation as required by regulatory authorities manually or electronically.
-Performing emergency repairs when needed
-Communicate effectively with shippers and receivers at pick-up and delivery points, confirming the accuracy of cargo and documentation.
-Operate either independently or as part of a two-person team or convoy.
-Report any issues or delays during the trip.
