Job requirements
Language: English
Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate
Experience: Experience an asset
Tasks:
• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Load and unload goods
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads
Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, Organized, Team player, Patience
