Job Description:
Load and unload goods
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform brake adjustments
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Perform preventive maintenance
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Transport and handle dangerous goods

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience: At least two years of experience as a truck driver is required.
Class 1 driver’s license or an equivalent international commercial driver’s license that meets Canadian licensing standards is required.
Being qualified to pass the MELT course in Alberta.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Sitting.
Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Hardworking, Patience.
Language: English is required
Weight handling: Maximum 50 lbs.

Holiday work may also be necessary if operationally required.
