Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate and drive articulated or straight trucks to transport goods and materials across local and international routes
2. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
3. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
4. Load and unload goods securely, including tarping
5. Maintain accurate logbooks, including fuel consumption, distance traveled ,and cargo details
6. Perform preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs when required
7. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain communication with central dispatch
8. Professionalism in customer service
9. Load and unload goods
10. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
11. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
12. Perform emergency roadside repairs
13. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
14. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
