Job Description:
The Traveling Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in various commercial and industrial settings across different locations. This role involves extensive travel to client sites, where the technician performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal functionality of HVAC equipment while adhering to safety, efficiency, and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
1. Travel to client locations to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including boilers, rooftop units, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and refrigeration equipment.
2. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks at various sites to identify and address potential issues proactively.
3. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system problems using diagnostic tools and techniques, regardless of location.
4. Perform necessary repairs or replacements of defective parts, components, or systems, ensuring consistency and quality of work across different sites.
5. Test HVAC systems to ensure they operate efficiently and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards, regardless of geographic location.
6. Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and clients at different sites to coordinate installations, repairs, and maintenance activities effectively.
7. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, equipment inventory, and maintenance schedules, regardless of travel itinerary.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in HVAC systems and equipment, adapting knowledge to diverse work environments.
9. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while traveling and working at different client sites, ensuring consistent compliance with local regulations.
10. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and service requests professionally and efficiently, regardless of location.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship preferred.
2. Relevant certifications such as EPA 608 Universal Certification, HVAC Excellence, or NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification.
3. Proven experience working as a commercial HVAC technician, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and controls.
4. Proficiency in reading technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints, adaptable to different environments.
5. Ability to use diagnostic tools, meters, and software to troubleshoot HVAC equipment effectively, regardless of location.
6. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, adaptable to varying work conditions.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team across different locations.
8. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with willingness to travel extensively.
9. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces at various locations.
10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, to accommodate travel schedules and client needs.
