Job Description:
Transportation Planner (Ref:1):
Support the functions and operations of the Innovative Transportation Solutions Division to improve safety and mobility within the city. Prepare and manage Mobility Master Plans, traffic impact analysis and engineering studies, intersection control evaluations, safety studies, and parking studies. Correspond with citizens regarding their concerns and/or complaints, managing consultants and capital projects, providing recommendations in matters regarding traffic and transportation. Provide services in the areas of traffic and transportation planning, including Data collection and analysis, traffic modeling and simulation, intersection roadway capacity analysis, traffic impact studies, crash data analysis, roadway safety analysis, bicycle/pedestrian traffic and safety analysis, feasibility studies, bicycle network planning, signal timing optimization, transportation demand management plans, and speed surveys. Review studies, master plans, and bicycle/active transportation studies. Learn and prepare feasibility of new technologies related to autonomous vehicle/connected vehicle (AV/CV) implementation, dedicated short range communications (DSRC), 5G. Tools used: Synchro, AutoCAD, Traffix, and ArcGIS

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Community Planning or a related field
Minimum experience: One (1) year.
Position requires one (1) year of experience, which must include one (1) year of
experience in Synchro, AutoCAD, Traffix, and ArcGIS.
