Northwest Freightways Ltd. located at Surrey BC is looking for 1 Transportation Manager (NOC: 70020).
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Morning, Day
Wage Rate: $49.50 Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible
Specific Skills:
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily trucking operations.
• Manage and supervise the scheduling and dispatching activities of trucks.
• Analyse expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies and budgets for better profits and services.
• Negotiate and make decisions regarding transportation service rates and monitor revenue.
• Hire new drivers and oversee their training.
• Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods.
• Resolve any issues regarding employee misconduct, late deliveries and customers' complaints.
• Organising and monitor all health and safety check and routine vehicle checks as per both company and statutory requirements.
Requirements
Education: High School or Bachelor degree
Experience: 3 to 4 years of relevant experience.
Languages: English
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, fast-paced environment
Essential Skills: Organized, reliable, effective interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication
Other: Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada
