Transmission Mechanic Job

Alberni Automatic Transmission Ltd (Auto repair shop) is seeking 4 full-time and permanant Transmission mechanic. Location: 130 Cliff Street Nanaimo, BC V9R 5E7.(Even Though this is a full time position we encourage part time job seekers to apply as well). Salary is 36.60 dollars per hour. No of hours are 35 per week.

Job Description/Duties

Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions

Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit

Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools

Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment

Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance

Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required and training courses or a vocational program is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided by employers.
