Job Description

. Estimate and assess the cost of truck repairs and replacement parts, when required.

. Plan and modify delivery routes based on traffic, weather, and road conditions using computer systems, GPS, and navigation equipment to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

. Respond to and resolve customer complaints and service-related concerns in a professional manner.

. Train and mentor co-workers on updated procedures, operational practices, and work techniques.

. Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times.

. Coordinate travel schedules, prepare itineraries, and arrange necessary reservations.

. Operate light-duty and specialized purpose trucks safely and efficiently.

. Monitor and inspect the condition of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other related equipment.

. Carry out brake inspections and adjustments as required.

. Conduct emergency roadside repairs and troubleshooting when necessary.

. Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections while ensuring all vehicle systems are functioning properly.

. Perform routine preventive maintenance to maintain vehicle safety and reliability.

. Communicate and relay operational information to central dispatch efficiently.

. Maintain accurate records of cargo details, hours of service, mileage, fuel usage, and trip information.

. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
