Job Description:
We are currently looking for a tour guide to join our company. Preferred candidates are required to have knowledge and skills about tourism industry, experienced as a tour guide or in management positions in a tour company, willing to travel, and commit to long-term employment with us.
Working hours: 30 hours per week
Wage: $18.00 per hour
Job duties:
Constant travel and speaking, co-ordinate tour and other recreation activities;
Schedule, plan, and organize the itinerary of tours;
Organize individual tour or tour groups for activities in tour package;
Conduct guided tours of various destinations, especially Western Canada, visit museums, gallery exhibitions and historical, heritage and other sites;
Transport or escort individuals or groups on tours of cities, Rocky Mountains, historical sites, and other establishments
Describe points of interest, answer questions, tell stories, and introduce features;
Provide background information, historical and cultural facts related to the sites;
Be knowledge about the Canadian Rockies, Banff National Park, and other places of interests in Canada and internationally;
Use microphones to provide directions and other pertinent information;
Drive small to medium size tour bus or other vehicle;
Confirm hotel, park, bus, and accommodation or other reservations;
Assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and transportation;
May need to collect fees, purchase tickets, fares, or make other payments;
Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups;
Resolve itinerary, customer complaints, and other problems;
Assist clients/guests with special needs;
Ensure the safety procedures of tour groups, guide them in the right directions;
Respond to questions from visitors and tourists and provide further assistance;
Ensure quality services to customers and proper customer relations;
Promote company tour package to tourists, perform some marketing duties.
Manage travel plan and tour package as required by the company;
Ensure smooth operation of every tour group and response to any special needs.

Job Requirements:
College Diploma, or a certificate in a related field
2 to 3 years of experience as a tour guide or management position in a tour company
Willing to travel, boundless energy, enthusiasm, and excitement
Charismatic personality and the ability to tell stories
Physically fit and able to be on your feet for extended periods
Knowledgeable about the industry, knowledgeable of tourism destinations
English or French, and an additional language: Mandarin or Cantonese
Excellent organizational and planning skills
On-the-job training is provided
