ABOUT THE POSITION
Due to the ongoing expansion of our operations, we are currently looking to hire a Tilesetter. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, goal-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare the surface with marking, measurement
• Fix tiles in place with appropriate pressure and positioning
• Align and straighten tiles using levels, squares and straightedges
• Fit tiles around/in obstacles by using cutting tools, both manual and power-operated
• Refine grout between tiles by removing excess grout and packing the necessary volume of grout
• Install tile strips
• Create decorative mural, wall and floor designs utilizing mosaic tiles
• Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces
• Cut, polish and install marble and granite
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of Secondary School
• At least 2 years of experience as a Tilesetter
• Strong attention to detail
• Good command of the English language
• Familiarity with workplace safety as well as safe lifting and handling procedures
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Permanent, full-time position
• $37.00 per hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week
• Overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week
