Employer and Location: Reliant Contractors Ltd. is seeking one experienced full-time Tile setter to complete residential and commercial projects in the city of Calgary and surrounding areas.

Position and Title: Tilesetter
Job Type: Full-Time Position
Positions Available: 1
Language: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma.
Experience: At least one year of experience.
Work conditions and physical capabilities:
• Physically demanding;
• Handling heavy loads;
• Bending, crouching, kneeling;
• Hand-eye co-ordination, and
• Large workload.
Personal suitability:
• Accurate;
• Client focus;
• Dependability;
• Reliability, and
• Team player.
Terms of Employment:
• $36.00 per hour;
• Full-time 35 hours per week;
• 6% vacation pay.
Specific Skills:
• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered;
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel;
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base;
• Align and straighten tiles;
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools;
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout;
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles;
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs;
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite;
• Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces, and
• Install tile strips.
