What we are looking for:
Testing & Balancing Technician – NEBB Certified Technician
This position is open to someone who has the experience in a NEBB Certified firm and would like to work in premier company where it can grow and further develop professionally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Test systems using specialized instruments such as balometers, water flow meter, ultrasonic flow meters, amperage and voltage data and rotational data
• Make system adjustments following the NEBB Standards to ensure system performance
• Discuss system operations with end users and propose solutions when design is not met.
• Prepare the report which summarizes the testing and balancing notes, any deficiencies found during the TAB work.
• Take a proactive approach in participating in the company’s NEBB TAB Technician Training Program
• The use of ladders is required on site. All employees must possess the ability to safely exercise ladder usage
• The use of aerial platforms is required for some projects. All employees must possess the ability to safely exercise aerial platforms usage.
• Perform work in a safely manner and in accordance with the company’s safety policy
• Ability to travel regularly with the occasional overnight stays for some projects
Working Conditions:
• Work environment: various commercial, industrial and residential buildings, new construction sites or retrofit buildings, mechanical rooms, confined spaces, hospitals, etc.
• Working conditions may vary and based on the scope of each project, you may be required to work outside and be exposed to rain, snow, and extreme heat or cold.
• Work hours may vary based on the scope of work for each project and at times you will be required to work weekends, overnight shift work or early morning shift work.
• A variety of physical demands are required to complete the work on site: climbing ladders, climbing stairs, access building roofs, open ceiling tiles, use aerial platforms to access ventilation equipment, stand for long hours, work in confined spaces
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry equipment (up to 50 pounds)

• Hourly rate of $39.00 per hour (overtime rate of $58.50 after 44 hours of work per week)

Qualifications:
• Must have post-secondary diploma in HVAC systems, Mechanical Engineering Technology or relevant field
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a NEBB Certified firm
• Proficient speaking and writing in English language
• Mathematical proficiency for computing equations associated with Air and Hydronic balancing
• Versed in using MS Office, Excel and cloud file sharing applications
• Experienced in interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications to fully understand the design intent of each system
• Very good mechanical aptitude in using hand tools
• Ability to use specialize instruments
• Must have Working at Heights and WHMIS before starting on site
• A valid Driver’s Licence and your own vehicle, as project locations vary throughout the Toronto and Greater Toronto Area and one would have to transport the testing instruments
• NEBB Certified Technician diploma is required

• Clean background check as most facilities require a police clearance letter
