POSITION:
Domoticka is seeking an experienced telecommunications equipment technician to install, test, maintain and repair a wide range telecommunications equipment, including integrated smart systems, automation design, and electronic controls, to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install and configure telecommunications, automation, and electronic control systems including integrated home automation hardware in residential and commercial environments.
• Program and set up operating systems, device firmware, and application software to enable system connectivity, internet access, remote control, and integration across all automation platforms and customer devices.
• Inspect, test, and verify the performance of installed systems to ensure reliability and compliance with technical specifications.
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot faults in telecommunications equipment, networked systems, and security hardware.
• Repair, adjust, replace, and calibrate telecommunications and automation components including wiring, circuit boards, connectors, control modules, and interfaces to restore or enhance system functionality.
• Perform preventive maintenance and functional testing on telecommunications and smart-system installations.
• Document work completed, including configuration settings, maintenance reports, and system faults identified and corrected.
• Provide on-site technical support and client instruction, explaining how to operate installed systems, offering guidance on basic troubleshooting, and recommending upgrades or preventive measures.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 2 years of confirmed experience.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Completion of secondary education.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Permanent, full-time position
• $36.50 per hour
• A minimum of 30 hours of work per week
• Overtime pay ($54.75/ hour) applies after 44 hours of work per week
• Location of work: 13 Blackshire Circle, Nepean ON, K2J 5L8, Canada
