Technician I Job

Job Summary:

Builds and repairs tooling and fixturing using machining operations, welding, and measuring instruments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ø Design, build, maintain and improve tooling and fixturing for production

Ø Provide machining services for prototypes, R&D, maintenance, etc.

Ø Participate in and provide tool room support for improvement activities

Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:

Ø Up to two (2) years of experience in tool and die making

Ø Familiarity with standard tool and die concepts, practices, and procedures

Ø Work under general supervision

Ø Blueprint reading

Ø Design CAD, CAM

Ø Math skills

Ø Understanding of manufacturing equipment and process

Ø Machine and tool processes

Ø Run 3 and 4 axis milling, turning and grinding machines

Ø Welding

Ø Ability to operate a fork truck

Education Requirements:

Ø High school diploma or GED required, or above preferred

Experience Requirements

Ø Toolroom / machine shop environment

Physical Demands:

Ø Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Ø Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ø Ability to work in sometimes extreme temperatures

Ø Teamwork: Able to communicate effectively, participate as a member of a team and work well with others to maximize efficiency.

Ø Quality: Familiar with company policies and demonstrates knowledge of relevant procedures and importance of producing quality products.

Ø Safety: Follows general and equipment specific safety rules. Uses appropriate safety protection equipment and other safety devices.
