Reporting to the Team Leader and Line Leader, the Packaging Operator is responsible for operating the packaging machinery and/or any other applicable machinery. The Packaging Operator will also work closely and provide backup as needed to the Team Leader in order to ensure the packaging line produces a consistent product in a timely manner that meets all standards.

In this position you will work in a team environment led by a Team Leader. You will support your Team Leader by demonstrating and practicing team work every day and respect all your fellow Team Members.

Duties:
• Assists the team leader in fostering an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team Members
• Set up and adjust packaging machines
• Leads, coaches, mentors and trains other Team Members as needed by the Team Leader
• Verifying proper packaging materials and ensuring proper product in being placed within the packaging
• Operates and manages labelling machine efficiently
• Responsible for controlling Critical Control Point (Date Coder, Metal Detector, UV Light, etc.)
• Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system)
• Follows VQS (visual quality standards)
• Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company standards and follows-up on regular inspections
• Reports any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate parties
• Check products to ensure conformance to company standards and clear machine blockages as required
• Cleans up the area during and after shift is over
• Supports return to stock and returns packaging materials after production is done
• Follows all GMP’s and Safety Procedures as outlined by FGF Brands
• May be asked by Shift Leader to perform general labor duties when needed as well as be assigned additional duties

Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Previous experience working in a food/bakery manufacturing environment
• Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a quality issue
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role including frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
• Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed
