Overview
CanNorth College of Health, Business, and Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program. The successful candidate will provide instructional support to faculty, assist students with learning activities, and ensure the smooth delivery of program objectives in line with college standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist instructors in preparing and delivering course materials, lesson plans, and teaching aids for the Personal Support Worker Program.
• Support students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and clarify instructional content.
• Assist in the preparation, invigilation, and administration of examinations, quizzes, and assessments.
• Grade examinations, placement, and assignments under the guidance of instructors.
• Lead and facilitate discussion groups, seminars, and skills practice sessions to reinforce PSW competencies.
• Organize and maintain reference materials, laboratory equipment, and instructional resources.
• Provide academic and technical support in classroom and clinical settings.
• Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and performance as directed.
• Support faculty in maintaining compliance with program requirements and college policies.
• Process files, documentation, and reports related to student progress and course delivery.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
• Completion of a college diploma in health, social sciences, education, or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in teaching, tutoring, or assisting in a post-secondary or healthcare training environment.
• Knowledge of Personal Support Worker curriculum and healthcare practices is an asset.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and adaptability in an academic setting.
