Job Title: Tattoo Studio Manager
Job Summary:
The Tattoo Studio Manager is responsible managing the daily operations of the studio, ensuring a clean, safe, professional, and welcoming environment for clients, artists, and staff. This role combines administrative oversight, team leadership, and hands-on problem-solving to maintain high standards of service, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Studio Operations:
• Oversee day-to-day studio activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations
• Open and close the studio as needed, ensuring security procedures are followed
Staff & Artist Management:
• Supervise front desk staff, apprentices, and support personnel
• Coordinate schedules for tattoo artists and staff to ensure adequate coverage
• Train and support staff onboarding
• Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment
• Act as a point of contact between artists and ownership/upper management
Supply & Inventory Management:
• Monitor and maintain inventory of tattoo supplies, equipment, and retail products
• Order supplies as needed while managing budget considerations
• Ensure all tools and materials meet safety and regulatory standards
Customer Experience & Issue Resolution:
• Handle client inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Maintain accurate records of appointments, consent forms, and transactions
Financial & Administrative Duties:
• Manage operating budgets, expense tracking, and basic financial reporting
• Monitor daily sales, deposits, and cash handling procedures
• Implement cost-control measures to improve profitability
• Support marketing initiatives and promotions when needed
Studio Maintenance & Technology:
• Identify and address studio maintenance needs, including repairs and upkeep
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing
• Oversee and implement technology updates (booking systems, POS systems, software, etc.)
• Troubleshoot basic technical issues to minimize operational disruptions
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure adherence to local health regulations, licensing requirements, and sanitation standards
• Maintain proper documentation and records for inspections and audits
Qualifications:
• 2+ years’ experience in tattoo studio, salon, or similar environment
• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
• Completion of secondary school
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities
• Familiarity with tattoo industry standards and health regulations
• Basic technical proficiency with scheduling software and POS systems
Work Environment:
• Fast-paced, creative studio setting
• Requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends
