Position Info:
• Position: Cook
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $25.00/hour
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 2
• Work Location: 702 Vernon Street, Nelson, BC V1L 4G2

Benefits:

Job Duties:
• Assemble and finish Japanese dishes, following the restaurant's recipes and plating standards
• Adjust dishes for customers with allergies or restrictions, substituting ingredients where needed
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills and knives safely during service
• Portion dishes according to recipe standards to support the restaurant's food cost targets
• Monitor inventory levels during prep and flag kitchen supply needs to the supervisor
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and reinforce food handling standards when training new kitchen staff
• Sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and work stations after each shift

Job requirements:
• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
• Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required.
