Position: Sushi Chef
Available Position: 1
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $36.60-$38.00 per hour
Work Hour: 40 hours per week
Benefits: 4% of the gross salary
Work Location: 1175 Davie Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1N2
Job Duties:
-Oversee sushi bar and supervise sushi cooks. Train new sushi line cooks
-Order select sashimi grade fish and raw seafood, inspect quality and freshness
-Cut, slice, filet and portion fish to prepare for service
-Prepare sashimi, nigiri, maki, aburi and other specialty sushi according to orders
-Perform quality check and plating of sushi orders before service to patrons
-Oversee the maintenance of sanitary and clean sushi bar
Requirements:
-Completion of secondary school
-Completion of an apprenticeship program or culinary school program is an asset.
-At least 3-5 years of Cook experience in commercial Japanese and sushi kitchen is required.
-English is required
