Job Description:
OOtaru Japanese Kitchen is located at #168 - 8180 No. 2 Road, Richmond, BC V7C 5K1. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Sushi Chef. If you are interested, please submit your resume by e-mail.
Position: Sushi Chef
Wages: CAD$27.00-37.00 /hour (depending on experiences)
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 30- 40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
• Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
• Prepare and cook Japanese sushi foods such as sushi, sashimi, chef’s sushi specials, and specialty foods
• Create new recipes
• Plan menus and ensure sushi food meets quality and safety standards
• Demonstrate and train staff with new sushi preparations/cooking techniques and equipment
• Supervise activities of cooks and staff
• Monitor and requisition food and supplies of sushi bar
• Arrange repair and purchase of equipment
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school;
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
• Cook certificate an asset.
