Hours: 30–40 hours per week

Job Description
SUSHIBUCKS is seeking an experienced and reliable Sushi Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness.

Responsibilities
• Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality
• Cut, portion, and prepare fish, seafood, vegetables, and rice
• Create attractive and consistent food presentations
• Follow recipes and maintain portion-control standards
• Maintain inventory and notify management when supplies are needed
• Ensure food is stored and handled safely
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Train and support junior kitchen staff when required

Requirements
• Completion of secondary school
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience preparing sushi and Japanese cuisine
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of raw-fish handling
• Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies
• Strong attention to detail and food presentation
• Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
