Supply Chain Specialist – Procurement Job

- Perform analysis and assessment of shortages or overstocking monitor stock levels and prepare a forecast model, taking in all factors regarding the previous months of sales numbers plus the last year’s sales data to fully understand how to forecast, as a result of this, provide information and ideas for the development and monitoring of the company’s budget regarding purchasing and inventory.

- Source all options for road and ocean Freight and select the best price for the Inbound and outbound shipments and encourage cost reduction initiatives for procured components and services to support business goals.

- To harness the corporation acquisition and negotiation power to lower costs and reduce lead times.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective suppliers and address issues or disputes that arise during the procurement process to support the organization's goals.

- Attend the customer inquiries, clarify their needs, and provide necessary alternatives to accomplish the needs of the customer, regarding supply chain-related issues in a timely and effective manner and implement corrective measures and process improvements as required.

- Acquire products from local and international vendors, securing timely delivery of the goods, according to the customer's requisitions.

- Develop and oversee delivery schedules, track progress, and liaise with clients and suppliers to address and resolve issues.

- Work closely with other departments, such as Accounts Payable, Warehouse team and sales, to align procurement activities with business objectives.

- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 2 years of related work experience

The company has 2 internal divisions, Direct Store Distribution (DSD) and Corporate Sales. Our DSD division operates 6 five-ton trucks that service the Golden Horseshoe Area which include the following major and surrounding geographical areas: Niagara Peninsula, Hamilton Wentworth, Halton, Peel, Greater Toronto Area, York Region, Brant County, Wellington County and Durham County; an estimated population base of 8 million people. Included in the DSD division are sales personnel that solicit independent accounts in all channels of distribution; C&G, Drug, Grocery, Mass, On-Premise, Educational and Food Service.
