We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist - Procurement to manage and optimize our procurement processes, ensure timely supply of raw materials, semi-finished products, and packaging materials, while controlling costs and maintaining product quality standards.
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities Procurement Management & Strategic Planning • Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices ensuring compliance with food safety standards • Develop annual procurement budgets and cost control strategies to optimize procurement costs • Analyze market trends, forecast raw material price fluctuations, and develop procurement timing strategies • Establish and maintain inventory management systems for key raw materials to ensure production continuity Supplier Relationship Management • Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for food ingredients and packaging materials • Establish long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure supply stability • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations including quality, delivery time, and service levels • Coordinate supplier audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards Contract Negotiation & Cost Control • Negotiate, draft, and manage procurement contracts ensuring favorable commercial terms • Monitor and analyze procurement costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities • Manage procurement budgets ensuring completion of procurement objectives within budget • Coordinate payment terms and accounts payable management to optimize cash flow Quality Assurance & Compliance • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure all procured materials meet food safety standards • Establish and maintain supplier quality management systems including incoming material inspection procedures • Ensure all procurement activities comply with federal and provincial regulations • Manage product traceability systems ensuring food safety traceability Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure material supply meets production requirements • Work on procurement budget management and cost analysis • Communicate with sales teams to understand market demand changes affecting procurement • Assist in new product development by sourcing appropriate ingredient suppliers
Skills Requirements • Proficient in procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation • Experienced in importing and exporting procedures, including the customs declaration and documentation preparation • Strong cost analysis and financial management capabilities • Familiar with food safety standards and regulatory requirements • Familiar with inventory management systems and demand forecasting tools • Basic project management skills • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities • Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities • High level of responsibility and confidentiality • Ability to adapt to fast-paced work environments
