We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team. This role will manage the operations of our supply chain and implement processes and policies to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Position Details:
Title: Supply Chain Manager (NOC 10012)
Type: Full-time
Vacancy: 1
Salary: $96,720/year (equivalent to $46.50/hour)
Work time: 40 hours per week
Work location: 214 Kent St., Charlottetown, PEI C1A 1P2
Benefit: 10 paid vacation days annually
Start date: As soon as possible
Job Duties:
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize our supply chain operations to reduce costs and lead times while maintaining high quality standards;
• Oversee and manage all supply chain and logistics operations for our community care home;
• Source for suppliers, supply chain and logistics providers and oversee negotiations to ensure best possible pricing and terms for goods and services, review and manage supplier contracts;
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of goods, be the final point of resolution for supplier claims and disputes;
• Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels for medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, dietary supplies, personal care items, recreational materials, and administrative resources, focusing on preventing shortages and minimizing waste;
• Ensure that all essential supplies and medications are always readily available;
• Work with our care, dietary, activities, and administrative departments to comprehensively understand their supply needs and ensure timely availability of critical items such as medications and specialized diets;
• Develop a resilient supply chain network that can adapt to unexpected challenges, such as supply chain disruptions or changes in resident needs, and implement contingency plans and alternate logistics arrangements as needed;
• Manage the supply chain budget and ensure expenditures are in line with budgeted expense projections;
• Proactively identify and take charge of opportunities for process improvement and cost savings;
• Manage supply chain staff, providing work directives, guidance, training, and performance measurements;
• Develop policies and ensure compliance for supply chain operations, including the sourcing and selection of vendors and suppliers, placing of purchase orders, payment terms, shipping timeframes, quality evaluations, and dispute resolution processes;
• Analyze supply chain data and generate reports to advise senior management on supply chain efficacy;
• Foster continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree;
• At least two years of work experience in supply chain or logistics in a management role;
• Familiar with MS Office (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) and inventory management software;
• Proficient in creating and implementing supply chain strategies to reduce costs and lead times while maintaining quality;
• Strong leadership skills, experienced with managing supply chain staff members and coordinating with multiple departments;
• Adept at negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors for best possible pricing and terms;
• Demonstrated compentencies in supply chain management, including managing budgets and lead times, mitigating risks, overseeing contract negotiations, and dispute resolution;
• Proficient in supply chain process improvement and policy implementation;
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory management, and supply chain logistics;
• Excellent problem-solving mindset with the ability to make timely, informed decisions under pressure;
• Able to foster cohesive team dynamics and effectively prioritize and delegate tasks.
