Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Supervisor to oversee daily transportation operations within our logistics team. This role is critical in ensuring efficient freight movement, effective communication across departments, and seamless coordination with third-party logistics providers. You are someone who knows how to lead a team and keep operations running without losing sight of the people doing the work. In this role, you'll oversee our dispatching and scheduling team day-to-day — setting the pace, solving problems as they come up, and making sure both your team and our clients can count on you. The ideal candidate must have strong background in transportation coordination, possess strong analysis skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with various operations systems. If you have the right skill set, take pride in running a tight, and well-supported operation, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee a team of dispatching and scheduling clerks on a day-to-day basis — assigning tasks, setting priorities, reviewing completed work, and making sure crew deployment and route scheduling run on time and without gaps.
- Take ownership of workplace safety and regulatory compliance: ensure all team members follow established procedures, flag any gaps, and actively contribute to updating policies when improvements are needed.
- Act as the go-to person when things go wrong — whether it’s a scheduling conflict, an equipment issue, or a client complaint — by diagnosing the root cause and putting fixes in place that prevent the same problem from recurring.
- Bring new hires and existing staff up to speed on job responsibilities, equipment use, and company procedures through hands-on training and guidance.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies and materials to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Keep an eye on the technology and equipment the team relies on — computer systems, dispatch tools, and machinery — and coordinate maintenance or repair when something needs attention.
- Carry out performance evaluations for direct reports, providing constructive feedback to support development and accountability.
- Step in and handle frontline dispatching or scheduling duties directly when operational needs require it.
