Student Accounts Officer Job

South College is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Student Accounts Officer to join our Student Financial Services team. The successful candidate will assist students with tuition payments, billing inquiries, account balances, financial records, and payment plans while ensuring accurate account maintenance and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile student financial accounts.
Process tuition payments, refunds, and account adjustments.
Respond to student and parent inquiries regarding billing, payment plans, and account balances.
Assist students with understanding tuition charges and institutional policies.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Coordinate with the Financial Aid and Registrar's offices to resolve account discrepancies.
Prepare reports and perform account reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable financial regulations.
Provide professional customer service in person, by phone, and via email.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in accounting, student accounts, customer service, or higher education administration preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
