Structural Metal Fabricator (NOC 72104) Job

At this time, we are looking for a structural metal fabricator to join our team.

•Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to understand project specifications.
•Monitor the welding process to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
•Inspecting welded joints for defects and performing repairs or adjustments as needed
•Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on the requirements of the job.
•Prepare surfaces to be welded by cleaning, grinding, and cutting materials as necessary.
•Weld components together using various welding processes such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas) or TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)
•Keep accurate record of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
•Following and enforce the strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
•Fabricate machined and metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
•Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
•May set up and adjust machine tools accordingly to lineup specifications.
•Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces.
•Read work orders, charts, tables, or study sample parts to determine machining operations and the best sequence of operation.
•Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner; perform change over, preventative maintenance, start up and shut down procedures.
•Lay out reference points and patterns on metallic parts as per specifications.
•Install fabricated components in final products.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications
-Minimum 4 years of experience working in metal fabrication
-Secondary education completed
-Education based in the relevant trade – e.g. metal fabrication, manufacturing technology, structural engineering, and/or other.
-CNC certifications is an asset
